Collecting and conserving

The Museum für Völkerkunde, as seen in the context of a world culture archive, undertakes the important task to conserve its artefacts in a professional way. The archives not on display are stored in the museum’s depositories. More than 90 percent of the entire inventory of the museum is stored there. These objects have been stored according to accepted standards or many years. Recently, however, the museum has strived to store its artefacts using the most advanced conservation methods and technologies.
