Museum für Völkerkunde Hamburg

„Bu müze bizim ev gibi!“ – „This museum is like home for us!“
(Turkish visitor, 2008)

You are invited

To experience the remotest corners of the world, to meet people with unimaginable customs and to see treasures of inestimable value.
The Museum für Völkerkunde (Museum of ethnology): In the centre of Hamburg, the entire world in a nutshell.
You are free to touch and feel, to be amazed and perplexed-and above all, to ask questions.
Through approximately 700.000 artefacts and documents, accumulated throughout far more than a century, we tell stories and show unseen worlds.
And with countless events and festivities worldwide, we foster direct exchange with foreign cultures.
